Private Room(s) in a Furnished Apartment for International Students or Academics
This is a fully furnished 4-room apartment (80 m²) with a balcony, a fully equipped kitchen,
and a bathroom (see pictures below). The largest room serves as a shared living/dining
area, featuring a TV (cable channels) and a keyboard for tenants' use. Two rooms are
available for rent in a female WG (non-smokers, no pets allowed). One room is reserved
for the landlord (a retired researcher) who spends most of the time abroad. Typically, the
apartment is left to a single tenant who maintains it responsibly and tidily.
At present, one room (15 m²) is occupied by a female student who will complete her
Master’s program at the end of April. This room will be available for tenancy starting May
15. The second room, which is 10 m², will be available for rent beginning April 15. Typically,
the smaller room serves as transitional accommodation prior to moving into the larger
room once it becomes available. As mentioned above, usually only the larger room is
rented. However, the tenants have the discretion to choose which option they prefer.
The rooms are fully furnished (see pictures) and include each a bed with
linen/pillows/blanket, and a workspace with chair and desk. The shared kitchen is fully
equipped with appliances such as a fridge, microwave, oven, coee machine, kettle,
toaster, sandwich maker, and a dishwasher, along with extensive cooking equipment and
dishes. The shared bathroom includes a washing machine. All rooms are lockable. The
apartment has its own security/alarm system.
Location: Near Mariendorfer Damm/Buckower Chaussee Crossing.
Nearby amenities include grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, as well as Public
transportation (bus stops), all within walking distance. Registration (Anmeldung) is
required upon move-in.
The monthly rent for the currently available room is 450 Euros, which includes utility costs
(electricity, heating, water, internet/Wi-Fi, cable). A deposit of one month's rent is
required. The minimum contract period is six months; however, the rental duration is
unlimited. The larger room’s rent will be 550 Euros including the above-mentioned
utilities.
Over the past îž±ve years, the rental duration of the four international tenants (including the
current one) has varied between 18 to 26 months. The room will be rented to a female
student (PhD student or a student/researcher with an academic internship/stipend). All
